Registration Process

Evaluating and Authorizing Healthcare Professionals

Registration with the Medical Council of Physicians of the Republic of Armenia is the mandatory, statutory process for evaluating and authorizing healthcare professionals. It ensures that all practitioners operating within the republic meet stringent national and international standards, thereby safeguarding public health and upholding the integrity of the medical profession.

Registration Tiers

To ensure high-quality patient care, the Council evaluates applications according to recognized educational and professional tiers:

General Medical Practice

For graduates completing their foundational medical education. Requires a Medical Degree (Bachelor / MD equivalent) and a completed Clinical Internship.

Clinical Specialization

For practitioners entering specialized fields (e.g., Surgery, Cardiology, Pediatrics). Requires successful completion of a formal Clinical Residency or official professional retraining programs.

Advanced Qualifications

For practitioners holding clinical-scientific statuses, requiring submission of advanced academic degrees (Candidate of Sciences / Doctor of Sciences).

Required Documentation

Applicants must compile a comprehensive digital dossier. All documents must be high-resolution, full-color digital scans (PDF format) of the original files. Incomplete or illegible submissions will not be processed. Foreign credentials must be accompanied by a notarized legal translation.

  • Proof of Identity: A valid Passport or National Residency Permit.
  • Educational Credentials: Medical Degree (Diploma) and the complete academic transcript detailing credit hours and clinical rotations.
  • Postgraduate Certificates: Internship Certificate, Clinical Residency Diploma, or specialized retraining certificates (as applicable to your tier).
  • CME Records: Certificates of Continuous Medical Education confirming the accumulation of required educational credits over the last practice cycle.
  • Professional Experience: An official Employment Record Book or extracts confirming previous medical employment history.
  • Certificate of Good Standing (CGS): Required only for internationally trained professionals or those who have previously practiced in a foreign jurisdiction (must be issued within the last 3 months).
  • Professional Portrait: A high-quality, formal biometric photograph on a pure white background.

1. Dossier Preparation & Submission

Compile all required identification, educational, and professional documents into a secure digital format. Submit the complete dossier directly to the official email address of the Council Registrar.

The Council initiates direct contact with your educational institutions and previous regulatory bodies to verify the authenticity of your submitted diplomas, transcripts, and ethical standing.

3. Competency & Ethical Review

The credentialing committee evaluates the verified documents against the mandatory state and international clinical standards to ensure full compliance.

Final Outcome

4. Registry Inclusion & Credentialing

Upon successful evaluation, the applicant is officially inscribed into the National Medical Registry. A unique registration number is assigned, and a digital Registration Certificate (Health License) is issued, granting the lawful right to practice.
